Governance

The Lay Leadership of the Academy is made up of parents of children currently enrolled in the school, as well as past parents, alumni, and members of our community. Our Board of Trustees is mandated to look after the business and official dimensions of the school. It deals with the Ministry of Education (MELS), the curriculum, the building, finances and legal matters. The current President of the Academy is Michael Mashaal. He is the chairman of the Board of Trustees. Solomon Schechter Academy actively encourages and welcomes volunteers on various Board committees. Great schools are made up of partnerships among parents, students, and teachers. We need the active involvement of parents in this partnership. We need your help whether you can offer an hour or a day, have a special talent or just want to have fun and meet some great people. You can make a difference.
